Rashad “Shadcore” Harrell is a hip-hop artist as well as a songwriter from St. Petersburg, FL. Shadcore began writing rhymes at the age of 9 after being influenced by acts such as Run-D.M.C. and LL Cool J.
Along with being a solo artist he is also the front man of a 6 member hip-hop fusion band known as “TRC”. He shares an equal passion for writing songs in multiple genres as he does for rapping.
Shadcore penned the song, ‘Boxx Cutta’, for TRC’s female vocalist, Eliana “Voxx” Blanchard. Boxx Cutta is a mix between Alternative Rock, Pop, Funk and Hip-Hop. He received national exposure in 2005 and 2006
when he placed 2nd and 3rd, respectfully, in VH-1’s Freestyle59 online competition. He even won a brand new car in 2001 in a jingle writing contest, hosted by KIA Motors and WiLD 94.1fm.
Shadcore has an A.S. degree in Music Composition from Saint Petersburg College’s MIRA (Music Industry/ Recording Arts) program. He has performed in many venues in the Tampa Bay area throughout his career. He is also
a founding member of Saint Petersburg College’s first ever online radio station, MYRA Radio, which launched in October of 2012. Shadcore produces and is the host of two of the station’s top shows; Hip-Hop Uncovered and Cruise Control.
